Can I swap out ingredients in your recipes?
Usually, yes. Most of these recipes are pretty forgiving, if a swap is safe (like walnuts for pecans, or chicken thighs for breasts), I’ll usually call it out right in the post. When in doubt, similar cook time and similar fat content are your best guide.
How long do leftovers actually keep?
Most cooked dishes on this site are good in the fridge for 3-5 days in an airtight container. If a specific recipe keeps shorter or longer than that, I’ll note it in the post itself, so check there first.
Can I make these ahead of time?
A lot of them, yes, especially crockpot meals, casseroles, and anything that needs to chill anyway (like cheesecakes). If a recipe is particularly make-ahead friendly, I’ll mention it directly in the post.
Do you have dairy-free or gluten-free versions?
Not officially, but plenty of recipes can be adapted with common substitutes (gluten-free flour blends, dairy-free butter and milk, etc). I haven’t tested every combination myself, so results may vary a bit from what’s pictured.
Can I double a recipe?
Most of the time, yes, just keep in mind cook times might need to stretch a little for a bigger batch, especially in the oven or crockpot. Check for doneness with a thermometer rather than going by the clock alone.
I don’t have the exact equipment you used, what do I do?
Use what you’ve got. I mention the specific pans and tools I personally use (see the Shop My Kitchen page), but almost everything here works fine in a standard version of that equipment, just double check size and material if it’s something like a springform pan or a baking dish.
A recipe wasn’t spicy/sweet/salty enough for me, what happened?
Nothing happened, taste is personal. These recipes are seasoned to a middle-of-the-road level on purpose so they work for the most people. Feel free to adjust seasoning to your own taste, that’s what it’s there for.
Can I suggest a recipe or ask a question about one?
Absolutely, reach out through the About page. I can’t promise every suggestion turns into a recipe, but I read everything.
