Who we are
Our website address is: https://cookincomfort.com. Cookin’ Comfort is a personal food blog featuring original recipes, cooking tips, and occasional product recommendations.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (called a hash) may be shared with the Gravatar service to check whether you’re using it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the site (for example, in the comments), please avoid uploading images that include embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from any images posted here.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on the site, you may opt in to save your name, email address, and website in a cookie. This is purely for your convenience, so you don’t have to re-enter your details the next time you leave a comment. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we also set a few cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, and screen option cookies last a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes your login cookies.
If you edit or publish a post, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. It contains no personal data — just the post ID of the article you edited — and expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Posts on this site may include embedded content, such as videos, images, or articles from other websites. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website directly.
These other websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content — including tracking your activity if you are logged into an account on that website.
Affiliate Disclosure
Cookin’ Comfort is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. This means that if you click a product link on this site and go on to make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.
We only link to products we personally use, recommend, or believe genuinely fit the recipe at hand. Whether or not a link is an affiliate link never influences the recipes or content we choose to publish.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email. Outside of that, we do not sell or share your personal information with third parties, aside from the service providers noted throughout this policy (such as spam-detection and hosting services) and our Amazon Associates affiliate partnership described above.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its associated data are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically, rather than holding every comment for manual moderation.
If you register an account on this site (currently not offered to the public), we also store the personal information you provide in your profile. You can view, edit, or delete your personal information at any time, though you cannot change your username. Site administrators can also view and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including anything you’ve provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, except where we’re required to retain it for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-detection service. Clicking an affiliate link on this site will take you to Amazon.com or another retailer, where that company’s own privacy policy governs any data collected.
Questions About This Policy
